Job Overview

Chester Community Mental Health Team are looking for an enthusiastic Health Care Support worker to join our busy team.

Based in Chester we cover a wide geographical area supporting people who live with mental health issues to function as independently as possible in their communities.

Working alongside members of the multidisciplinary team (Nurses, Occupational therapists, Psychologists, Consultants) you would be supporting the team to provide goal focused, holistic, person centred support. Encouraging recovery, reducing risk and supporting the promotion of life skills.

We work with adults aged 18 and over and support those with both functional and organic illnesses.

This job covers both clinic settings as well as accessing patients in the community.

This job would allow you to make a real and positive significant difference in the recovery journey of the patients we support.

The Trust currently supports the Real Living Wage (RLW) hourly rate as set by the Living Wage Federation and will apply a pay supplement if the national A4C hourly rate falls below this

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be expected (With support) to deliver a range of low level therapeutic interventions and other aspects of the service user\’s care plan under the guidance of the multi-disciplinary team inclusive of Occupational Therapists, Psychiatric nurses, psychologists and consultant psychiatrists.

This is a varied role and applicants will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, person-centred approaches to care and utmost respect and compassion for the people we serve.

You will work as part of a team of multi skilled, experienced colleagues who deliver daily safe and effective care. The team operates a collective approach to care delivery, meaning that you will feel well supported, safe and encouraged to always expand your impact in care.

  • Experience of mental health difficulties either lived experience or as a lay or professional carer
