We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join the Wallasey & West Wirral adult CMHT at an exciting time of development. The CMHT offers multi-disciplinary assessment and intervention for people with complex mental health needs.

Responsibilities

  • Alongside direct therapeutic work with individuals and their families, you would support the delivery of psychologically informed care and care planning through case discussions, MDT meetings, supervision, training and consultation.
  • You would have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing service developments, including the National CMHT Transformation Programme.
  • Clinical work within the team will include providing direct psychological and neuropsychological assessment and interventions.

You would be joining a very friendly and supportive community mental health team with a focus on a recovery model and trauma-informed care, where the role of Clinical Psychology is highly valued. You would also be part of a team of experienced psychologists focused on continuing personal development and peer support. There will be opportunities for the development of clinical skills, including training in therapies. Specifically, there is agreement that the successful post-holder will be able to access training in EMDR, and/or other therapy modalities deemed relevant to the needs of the Service Users. We have excellent links with the three Northwest courses and offer clinical placements.

Role level and progression

  • The post is offered at Band 8a for those with 1+ years post-qualification experience. We encourage newly-qualified clinicians to apply and can offer a Band 7 preceptorship moving up to 8a after demonstration of an appropriate level of skills and experience.
  • Newly qualified Clinical Psychologists, or those qualifying later in 2025, are encouraged to apply. Part-time hours will also be considered.
