JOB SUMMARY

As a Senior Waiter/Waitress in our Straits Kitchen Restaurant & Bar, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional, personalised experiences for every guest. You will act as a true ambassador of Pan Pacific London, ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to excellence. This is a demanding yet highly rewarding position, requiring a genuine passion for hospitality and a consistent commitment to excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow restaurant standards, policies, and procedures consistently, working collaboratively with all team members to maintain Forbes Five‑Star service excellence.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of:
    • All food items, liquor brands, beers, and non‑alcoholic beverages available in the restaurant.
    • Wines and champagnes available by the glass, as well as key selections from the wine list.
    • Appropriate glassware and garnishes for each beverage.
    • All menu items, including preparation methods, cooking times, ingredients, sauces, portion sizes, garnishes, presentation standards, and pricing.
    • Daily specials and any unavailable items.
    • Restaurant layout, including table, seat, and station numbers, table set‑ups, seating capacity, hours of operation, price range, and dress code.
    • Daily house count, arrivals, departures, and VIP reservations.
    • In‑house group activities, including locations and timings.
    • Correct usage, handling, and maintenance of all restaurant equipment.
    • All departmental policies and service procedures.
  • Assist in welcoming and escorting guests to their tables in accordance with departmental standards, ensuring tables are prepared and presented to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
  • Anticipate guest needs proactively, respond promptly to requests, and acknowledge all guests in a warm, attentive, and professional manner, regardless of business levels or time of day. Promote positive guest relations at all times.
  • Take and manage restaurant reservations and cancellations in line with departmental procedures when a Host/Hostess or senior colleague is unavailable, ensuring accuracy and professionalism at all times.
