The incumbent is responsible for meeting guest satisfaction by maintaining guest rooms and surrounding areas by ensuring that rooms are clean and ready for check-in. They will train and guide the Room Attendants under their section to ensure that they meet the hotel’s standards in providing guest satisfaction and cleanliness. This will include the rooms and public areas of the hotel.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of daily operations and be on top of the day’s rooms situation, including today’s assignment of rooms, VIP arrivals, PM projects, traces, OS and OO rooms, room changes, extension of stays and all guest requests sent through HOTSOS.
  • Daily assignment of rooms to Room Attendants, ensuring that all rooms are assigned out to be checked and cleaned for the day.
  • Inspection of rooms to ensure that all departure rooms are cleaned and inspected before Front Office can check in the guest.
  • Ensure room cleaning standards are in line with hotel’s standards; counsel and train Room Attendants if standards are not met.
  • Periodically raise an Inspection Room Checklist to check and grade Room Attendants’ cleaning against hotel standards.
  • Routinely check Room Attendant cleaning equipment to ensure it is operationally ready and that safety standards are adhered to.
  • Check Room Attendant’s cleaning report at the end of shift to ensure all rooms have been cleaned and updated in the system.
  • Check and ensure that PM rooms for the day have been completed and are free of defects before assigning to a Room Attendant for thorough cleaning.
  • Issue master key cards and pagers to Room Attendants, Houseman/Housemaid and Public Area Attendant; check all master key cards at the start and end of shifts.
  • Ensure Room Attendants raise service orders in HOTSOS for lost items found in rooms and cross-check with items brought down at the end of shifts.
  • Ensure Room Attendants’ pantries are clean and neat, and that guest corridors are cleaned and vacuumed before the end of their shift.
  • Ensure the daily Public Area Schedule is correct with corresponding job tasks/projects for the day and that Public Area Attendants are present on shift.
  • Ensure public areas of the hotel (Ballrooms, toilets, walkways, carpark, lobby, driveway and restaurants) are clean, stain-free and in line with hotel standards.
  • Report all defects in public areas and ensure the job is done and the area is cleaned.
  • Train public area attendants on how to identify defects and report them promptly.
  • Ensure public area maintenance projects are done promptly according to schedule and that machineries are well maintained for project works.
  • Train public areas on how to use cleaning machineries.
  • Ensure guest laundry has been returned by contractor at the end of the day and sent back to guest rooms; learn how to post and charge guest laundries in the system.
