Overview

Senior Designer, Priddy Books (12 months, fixed term contract) – Pan Macmillan. This fixed-term opportunity is for an experienced designer who creates innovative novelty books with flaps, pops, sounds, and other novelty elements, aimed at babies and toddlers.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the creation of multiple books across each publishing season, from idea conception to print-ready PDFs
  • Designs multiple books from start to finish and works with production to supply flawless print-ready PDFs
  • Brief illustrators and manage timely delivery with editors
  • Support more junior designers and work independently in a small team
  • Pitch new ideas and be commercially minded
  • Make sales materials and mock up spreads

Requirements (essential)

  • Technologically proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Experience creating products with novelty elements
  • Organised with ability to juggle multiple tasks
  • Excellent written English
  • Interest in preschool publishing
  • Exceptional attention to detail

Desirable

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Experience in organising photoshoots

  • All applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK
