Priddy Books was founded twenty-five years ago. Since then, we have sold millions of books around the world – including the bestselling series First 100 Words and See, Touch, Feel.
This is a fixed-term opportunity for an experienced designer who enjoys creating innovative novelty books with flaps, pops, sounds, and the newest novelty trends. We are seeking someone who understands the minds of discerning customers – babies and toddlers.
As one of the Senior Designers in our small creative team, you will be responsible for the creation of multiple books across each publishing season, covering all stages from idea conception to print-ready PDFs. You will be confident in the technical aspects of creating novelty books and will work closely with the production team.

Your role
Reporting to the Creative Director, the Senior Designer is a key role in the creative team. We are a small team and you will work independently, managing multiple projects alongside an editor, as well as supporting more junior designers in the team.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the ability to multi-task, as you will be working on several books at once, fulfilling all aspects of the creation process including making sales materials, briefing illustrators, and mocking up spreads. A can-do attitude is required, and you must be organised, have excellent written English skills and demonstrate that you can work well with others. In this crowded market, we need someone who is commercially minded and willing to pitch new ideas for our already established list.
Key tasks of the role
- Coming up with new book ideas and fresh design approaches
- Designing multiple books from start to finish
- Briefing illustrators
- Working with editors to manage the timely delivery of projects
- Working with production to supply flawless print-ready PDFs
Qualifications and skills
- Technologically proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Experience in creating products with novelty elements
- Organised and able to juggle multiple tasks at once
- Excellent written English
- A demonstrable interest in preschool publishing
- Exceptional attention to detail
Desirable skills
- Excellent communication skills

- Experience in organising photoshoots

Salary range: £39,000 onwards
