This Health, Safety and Wellbeing Business Partner role is an opportunity to build a career in an organisation grounded in care, guardianship and responsibility for people, animals and land – where your values, voice and impact truly count.

You’ll partner closely with leaders and teams across our South Island farm operations, coaching and empowering to uplift capability and ensure our safety systems continue to mature through our safety journey. Playing a key role in strengthening relationships and embedding our critical risk framework and health, safety, wellbeing practices in a way that feels authentic and practical.

You’ll be encouraged to spend time understanding the business, building trust and shaping your approach alongside stakeholders working “shoulder to shoulder” with our farm operations. This is a role for someone who wants to grow their influence, deepen their critical risk capability, and be part of a supportive, highly capable team with a strong, positive culture.

You’ll be backed to think ahead, contribute to our health and safety system, and develop your professional practice while still staying connected to the realities of life on farm. Based anywhere in the South Island (ideally Canterbury), you’ll enjoy a balance of office‑based work and time on farm – typically two to three days a month – offering variety, connection and the satisfaction of seeing our work make a real difference.

About You

You’ll bring a strong health, safety and wellbeing lens that balances risk, people and commercial realities. You’ll partner with our farm operation teams to embed our critical risk framework and good practices, strengthening capability and lifting our safety culture. Motivated by purpose – you bring a thoughtful, people‑centred approach, and you’re at your best when working alongside others to build understanding, capability and confidence.

You’re looking for a role where you can continue to grow professionally, be supported by an experienced, collaborative team, and contribute to improving health, safety and wellbeing for Pāmu and the Agricultural sector.

You’ll Likely Bring

  • Experience in health, safety and wellbeing roles where influencing, coaching and relationship‑building are central to success
  • Experience in leading ICAM investigations and follow‑up actions, a solid understanding of critical risk management and assurance frameworks, health and safety systems and a good understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act (HSWA 2015) and associated regulations
  • The confidence to engage early with a wide range of stakeholders and build trust through open, respectful conversations
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical or regulatory requirements into practical, workable solutions
  • A collaborative mindset and comfort working both independently and as part of a dispersed team
  • A willingness to travel and spend time in farm environments, staying connected to the people your work supports
