Due to significant business growth, PAM Physio Solutions are looking to employ the skills of an enthusiastic and experienced occupational health therapist to provide specialised workplace needs assessments and enhance their skills working for a large occupational health provider. They will be based and cover assessments in the South region as part of a nationwide team.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about the assessment of individuals with acute, chronic and complex health presentations to support their return to work or keep them in work. As part of our PPS team, you will be involved in delivering:

  • Specialist workplace needs assessments
  • Rehabilitation Services
  • Ergonomic Assessments
  • Case Management
  • Onsite training programmes

The role will involve travelling to different client sites/PAM clinics with some remote/home-based work. A full induction will be provided along with training and development through PAM’s dedicated PAM Academy, to support CPD and career aspirations. Travel time will be factored into the working day (depending on distance).

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Working as an autonomous clinical practitioner, being professional and responsible for all aspects of own workload.
  • Delivering specialist workplace needs assessments and relevant services covering a range of health conditions at client sites/PAM Clinics or remotely.
  • Delivering a thorough and detailed clinical assessment, using appropriate clinical techniques, tools and equipment.
  • Using clinical reasoning to provide relevant solutions and recommendations.
  • Delivering evidence-based intervention to all patients, in line with RCOT and NICE guidelines, and in accordance with the PAM PPS clinical pathways.
  • Formulating treatment plans/goals, assisting and enabling patients to achieve their goals and targets.
  • Providing appropriate advice based on the patient’s medical, social and cultural circumstances.
  • Maintaining accurate, comprehensive, contemporaneous patient records in line with clinical professional standards of practice.
  • Providing remote and face-to-face clinical interventions and assessment.
  • Liaising with employee managers to provide reports, treatment/rehabilitation updates, and return to work/task modification recommendations.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with the regulating body, the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Adhere to professional standards for Occupational Therapy Practice, as detailed by the HCPC and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).
  • Good understanding of relevant consent and confidentiality legislation/GDPR.
  • Understanding of current occupational health issues and an ability to keep abreast of current initiatives and best practice.
  • Working understanding of relevant employment law in an occupational health context e.g. Equality Act 2010 and reasonable adjustment application.
  • Analysis of Occupational performance/participation, with health and medical aspects.
  • Confident with activity analysis/job demand analysis (JDA) physical/cognitive/psychological aspects of a role.
  • Previous experience in an OH setting and delivery of specialist workplace needs assessments, FCE’s workplace ergonomics.
  • Multi-disciplinary professional team working experience.
  • Ability to manage a case load, whether a larger caseload or smaller but more complex cases.
  • Ability to write evidence-based reports and advice around reasonable adjustments, incl. return to work plans.
  • Strong IT skills and exposure to relevant clinical online platforms.
  • Effective communicator with strong listening and empathetic skills as well as the ability to influence and engage with others.
  • Excellent time management skills.
