We are seeking a confident, compassionate and motivated Occupational Health Nurse to join our expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic, varied role, combining clinic-based practice with on-site client work across the region. You’ll be at the forefront of supporting employee health and wellbeing, delivering high-quality, evidence-based services while building strong, trusted relationships with our clients.
The Role
- Monday - Friday x40 hours per week (30 min unpaid lunch)
- Location - Glasgow and Ayrshire
As an Occupational Health Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering a comprehensive range of occupational health services, including:
- Immunisations and vaccination programmes
- Phlebotomy (taking blood samples)
- Fit for Work / Fit for Job medicals
- New starter and pre-employment assessments
- Health screening and health surveillance (including audiometry, spirometry and exposure-related assessments)
This role offers an excellent blend of autonomy and teamwork, with regular travel to client sites across Central Belt, Glasgow, and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based clinical care
- Undertake immunisation and vaccination programmes safely and effectively
- Carry out health surveillance programmes, including audiometry, spirometry and other statutory monitoring
- Conduct Fit for Work and pre-employment medical assessments
- Travel to and support multiple client sites as required
- Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records
- Manage and report incidents, near misses and complaints in line with policy
- Contribute to audits and continuous service improvement
- Build positive relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders
- Work both independently and as part of a supportive team
- Participate in clinical supervision and ongoing professional development
About You
Essential:
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration no restrictions
- Proven experience in immunisations and vaccinations
- Competent in phlebotomy
- Experience conducting Fit for Work / Fit for Job medicals
- Strong IT skills and confidence using clinical systems
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
- Excellent communication, organisational and time-management skills
Desirable:
- Previous Occupational Health experience
- Experience delivering health surveillance programmes (e.g. audiometry, spirometry)
- Travel health experience
- Experience working under PGDs/WIs
- Knowledge of the Green Book and National Immunisation Schedule
- Strong understanding of informed consent and cold chain management
- Evidence of continuous professional development
