Paloma’s mission is to make children’s autism and ADHD assessments and care available on the NHS within 4 weeks of GP referral. We are redesigning care pathways, building new software & AI tools, and training a specialist clinical workforce to make this happen. We are growing quickly to meet the need for autism and ADHD care. We have raised £5m pre-seed funding from leading healthcare investors and grown our team to 80 people, with plans to hire ~100 more over the next 12 months.

The Opportunity
We are looking for a dedicated and results-driven Team Manager to lead and mentor a team of Neurodevelopmental Assessors delivering our autism assessment service. Clinical background is not required; clinical support and supervision are provided by senior assessors. You will lead onboarding and day-to-day management, ensure robust documented approaches, and use data to support development. You will collaborate with Product & Clinical Leaders and use project management tools to ensure timely, high-quality patient outcomes. There is progression to more senior roles including a ‘Senior’ Team Manager.

About you
You are an experienced team manager, ideally with some experience managing healthcare professionals. You will be able to operate autonomously, create a positive and inclusive team culture, and drive improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Line manage a growing team of neurodevelopmental assessors, fostering a person-centred and collaborative culture.
- Input into staff capacity modelling, hiring plans, and performance monitoring data.
- Support staff to achieve Key Performance Indicators and develop their career pathways.
- Develop a positive, collaborative culture with high retention and trust.
- Analyse and improve workforce absence, turnover, and utilisation to support business performance.
- Be part of the safeguarding team; complete relevant training and partner with the Safeguarding Lead.
- Work with the People Team to ensure DBS, professional registration, and CPD for clinical staff.
- Research best practices in workforce management and scale, promoting continuous improvement.
Qualifications and experience:
Required:
- At least 4 years of experience directly managing 10-15 person teams in fast-growing environments, including rota/scheduling, professional development, performance management, and staff wellbeing.
- Excellent influencing skills and ability to communicate with staff at all levels.
- Experience working cross-functionally to improve service quality and efficiency.
- Ability to balance continuous workforce improvement with changing service demand.
- Experience creating, delivering, and improving training programmes.
- Proficiency with Google Sheets or Excel to derive insights and drive improvement initiatives.
- Excellent coaching skills with the ability to mediate and resolve conflicts.
- Experience managing clinical teams.
- Qualifications in workforce development/planning, project management, education and training.
- Experience in safeguarding, including level 3 safeguarding training.
