Time Commitment

Full‑time (Monday‑Friday 9am‑5:30pm) preferred. 4‑day a week is also considered.

Location

This is a fully remote role, with up to 2 weeks of in‑person training in our London office. You also have the option to work hybridly between home and the London office. You must permanently reside in the UK.

Reporting to

Neurodevelopmental Team Manager.

About Paloma

Paloma was founded by Mark & Darshak when they were frustrated that families were waiting 2–10 years for NHS children’s autism and ADHD assessments. Our mission is to make children’s autism and ADHD assessments and care available on the NHS within 4 weeks of GP referral. We redesign care pathways, build new software & AI tools, and train a specialist clinical workforce.

We have raised £5m pre‑seed funding, grown to 80 people and are hiring ~100 more over the next 12 months.

The Opportunity

We aim to support registered healthcare professionals and registered social workers in developing skills to deliver high‑quality, neuroaffirmative assessments for families.

This 12‑month training programme led by expert Clinical Psychologists will teach you to deliver assessments safely, including:

  • Remote parental interviews and observations (via video calls)
  • Contributing to MDT diagnostic decision‑making, moving toward leading the diagnostic process
  • Tech‑enabled outcome report writing
  • Outcome calls with parents and families (via video call)

We will cover additional training costs such as the ADOS‑2 course if necessary.

Upon completion you will become a ‘Neurodevelopmental Assessor’ with a salary increase and the potential to progress to Senior and Principal Assessor.

We support your development and well‑being with:

  • Regular 1‑to‑1 clinical supervision
  • Protected time and budgets for professional‑specific CPD, reflection, and training, including formal autism qualifications if desired
  • Quarterly development conversations with clear career progression paths
  • Clear weekly timetables supporting patient care, administration, development, and team building

Responsibilities

  • Conduct high‑quality neurodevelopmental assessments after training and sign‑off.
  • Act in accordance with our Safeguarding Policy, including conducting risk assessments where necessary.
  • Keep up to date with mandatory training and your professional qualification requirements, including CPD.

About you

You are a qualified healthcare professional interested in autism and ADHD assessments, looking to advance your skills to take a leading role.

Qualifications and experience: Required

  • Professional registration: occupational therapist (HCPC), speech & language therapist (HCPC), nurse (NMC) in child development/learning disability, psychologist (HCPC), medical doctor (GMC), or social worker (Social Work England).
  • Experience working with children and young people in a professional environment.
  • Experience working with autistic individuals.
  • High‑quality communication skills.
  • Enhanced DBS with barred list check (required for working with children).

Training Investment and Repayment

Paloma invests £80,000 per trainee. A repayment clause applies if you leave before 24 months: £15,000 (19%) if within year 1, £7,500 (9%) if within year 2.
