Engineer - Software Engineering

Full-time. Location: Hybrid is preferred, working 2 days in the London office (Wednesdays and Thursdays) and 3 days at home per week. Reporting to: VP of Technology, Avishai Gurt.

Paloma’s mission is to make children’s autism and ADHD assessments and care available on the NHS within 4 weeks of GP referral. Mark and Darshak founded Paloma due to their frustration that families are waiting 4-10 years for NHS children’s autism and ADHD assessments. This crisis in NHS children’s neurodevelopmental services has been highlighted by the Children’s Commissioner for England.

As a Fullstack Engineer, you will own specific workstreams to continuously improve the Paloma Portal, our AI-powered patient pathway and Electronic Patient Record (EPR) software. This software ensures Paloma can give families fast access to an autism or ADHD assessment and supports our clinicians to maximise time with families rather than on documentation.

With demonstrated success in the role, you can progress to a Senior Fullstack Engineer.

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code across the full stack in C# or TypeScript.
• Develop complex interfaces using ReactJS and TypeScript.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain scalable, resilient cloud-native applications on platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving software development processes and culture.
• Build your own knowledge and skills to create AI and/or agent-based applications where appropriate, e.g. for intelligent process automation, data collection, and user assistance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in C# and TypeScript (Java or Python is a plus).
• React.js and Single-Page Application development.
• Building event-driven systems.
• SQL and management of SQL databases in a cloud environment.
• Familiar with spec-driven development using AI tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Windsurf.
• Working within healthcare, including with health data and adhering to regulatory requirements.
• Monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
