ADOS Autism Assessor for Children and Young People (Remote)

Time commitment: Full‑time preferred; part‑time also available:

  • Minimum 3 days/week for HCPC, NMC, and Social Work England registered professionals.
  • Minimum 2 days/week for GMC registered professionals.

Location: Fully remote; must permanently reside in the UK.

Reporting to: Autism Service Team Manager.

About Paloma

Paloma was founded to reduce the NHS wait for autism and ADHD assessments for children and young people.

Our mission is to deliver NHS autism and ADHD assessments within 4 weeks of GP referral, using redesign, new technology, and a specialist clinical workforce.

We have raised £5 m pre‑seed funding, grown to 80 people, and plan to hire ~100 more over the next 12 months.

The Opportunity

Paloma Health offers a gold‑standard autism assessment pathway and a patient‑record software system that provides:

  • High‑quality, timely assessments and clear outcomes.
  • A role that rewards by improving clinicians’ experience and is supported by AI tools that streamline reporting.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary assessment team, delivering:

  • Remote child observations (video calls).
  • Peer MDT diagnostic decision‑making, with senior clinical MDT support when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct high‑quality child observations as part of an autism assessment.
  • Act in accordance with our Safeguarding Policy, including risk assessment where necessary.
  • Maintain mandatory training and professional qualification requirements, including CPD.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Professional registration with HCPC, NMC, or Social Work England.
  • Completion of a recognised ADOS‑2 course (required for HCPC, NMC, Social Work England; optional for clinical psychologists).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in children and young people’s autism diagnostic assessments, with child observation experience for ages 5–18.
  • High‑quality parent and patient communication skills.
  • Enhanced DBS with barred list check.
  • Evidence of Safeguarding training (Level 3 and above).

Salary & Benefits

  • £58,000–£70,000 per year (based on experience and clinical background).
  • Professional registration allowance and equipment allowance.
