Your Career As a Principal Technical Product Engineer within the Cortex organization, you will operate at the highest individual-contributor level, serving as a senior technical leader and strategic customer advocate bridging strategic customers, Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and Professional Services.
As a Principal TPE, you are a force multiplier. You don't just solve hard problems for our most technically complex customers—you define how they should be solved by identifying patterns across the customer base, mentoring others to raise the bar, and directly influencing Cortex product strategy, technical direction, and roadmap decisions. You operate beyond individual customer engagements, translating complex technical and business challenges into actionable direction that shapes the future of our cloud-native and security operations platforms.
Your Impact Set technical strategy and vision for cross-functional initiatives, partnering with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and customers to drive innovation and ensure secure, scalable adoption of the Cortex platform. Act as a trusted technical advisor and primary technical voice to executive leadership (CISOs, security executives, cloud leaders), leading complex technical engagements involving Cortex architecture, deployment, integrations, scalability, and security strategy. Influence product strategy and roadmap decisions by translating customer problems into clear product requirements, challenging and validating product assumptions using data and market intelligence, and prioritising product gaps based on impact and value. Provide technical leadership across Cortex, developing deep expertise in XSIAM, XDR, XSOAR, Cortex Cloud/CNAPP, detection and response, AI Security, Agentic AI, and MCP. Drive cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, Professional Services, Support, and Marketing without relying on formal authority to solve high-visibility challenges. Scale organizational knowledge and enablement by developing reusable architectures, playbooks, troubleshooting methodologies, best practices, and technical enablement for the field and partner teams. Mentor and elevate technical professionals, raising the overall technical bar and building a culture of engineering excellence across the organization. Maintain strong market and competitive intelligence, tracking competing products and emerging capabilities to provide actionable insights to leadership and Product Management.
Your Experience Proven ability to inspire and influence teams, colleagues, and executives, paired with a strong track record of independent execution and delivery. Deep cybersecurity and cloud technical expertise, with the ability to set direction rather than simply respond to it. Extensive experience leading cross-functional programs in fast-paced environments, managing multiple high-stakes projects and strategic enterprise customers simultaneously. Exceptional professional presence and confidence advising audiences ranging from practitioners to C-level executives. A collaborative leader who creatively and effectively solves the most complex issues and proactively establishes scalable solutions rather than solving isolated problems repeatedly. Deep affinity for technology and a relentless drive to master product, market, and competitive details, including emerging areas like AI Security and Agentic AI. Strong work ethic, integrity, and organizational discipline. Extensive experience working with strategic enterprise customers and major cloud infrastructure providers. Strong background in security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR), XSIAM, XDR, or CNAPP technologies. Demonstrated mastery of securing modern cloud platforms and application architectures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with outstanding executive-level presentation abilities.
