Job Summary As a Consulting Engineer at Palo Alto Networks, you join the global SME team for secure mobile and network infrastructure. The role combines hands‑on skills with customer‑facing technical advisory. You partner with EMEA sales and channel teams to lead business‑relevant security conversations with Service Providers and enterprises, covering mobile core, edge, and critical infrastructure environments. You also help shape the next generation of AI security on both fronts: runtime protection for the AI applications customers deploy, and defense of the network against AI‑driven threats and attack vectors. Hands‑on, you drive PoCs, lab evaluations, and reference architectures that validate these solutions in customer environments. The advisory side connects that work to the outcomes customers are buying: reduced risk, regulatory alignment, new service monetization, and platform consolidation savings.

Your Impact:

  • Run business‑relevant security conversations and demos that separate Palo Alto Networks from competitors and legacy solutions.
  • Engage at all levels of the customer organization, from operations practitioners to senior executive leadership.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact on RFIs, RFPs, and architectural deep‑dives across the EMEA region.
  • Find and qualify new opportunities with EMEA Service Providers and enterprises, expand existing accounts, and equip channel partners to win in our channel‑led model.
  • Serve as the EMEA pre‑sales SME across Service Provider mobile core, multi‑access edge, and enterprise critical infrastructure deployments.
  • Position AI‑driven security on both fronts: runtime protection for the AI applications customers deploy, and defending the network against AI‑driven threats and attack vectors.
  • Bring deep networking (routing, switching, segmentation, IPv4/IPv6) to operator and enterprise architectures.
  • Drive PoCs, evaluation plans, and lab work across mobile, critical infrastructure, and AI security.
  • Architect customer solutions and document high‑level designs and key use cases that ensure proper implementation and value realization.
  • Support customers through major escalations; provide field input to Product Management and Engineering on the roadmap.
  • Build and run internal and partner‑facing workshops on secure mobility and critical infrastructure security; coach teammates and practice specialists.
  • Represent Palo Alto Networks externally on secure mobility and critical infrastructure trends through industry events, panels, and technical publications.
  • Travel across EMEA for customer meetings, executive briefings, and industry events.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience as a System Engineer, Systems Integrator, or equivalent.
  • Direct experience with 4G and 5G mobile networks and the relevant 3GPP standards.
  • Working knowledge of 4G and 5G network elements and reference points in both Service Provider and Private 5G, including 5G Standalone, cloud‑native cores, network slicing, and roaming/interconnect security.
  • Strong networking fundamentals: SP routing and switching, IPv4/IPv6, IPSec, segmentation.
  • Experience with network and infrastructure security: next‑gen firewalls (physical, virtual, cloud‑delivered), SASE, IPSec/SSL VPN, zero trust.
  • Working knowledge of public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), cloud‑native infrastructure, IaC, and DevOps.
  • Container and orchestration experience (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
  • Familiarity with AI/ML applied to security, including AI‑powered threat prevention and runtime protection of AI applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to present internally and to customers.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complex multivariate problems and drive resolution under pressure.
  • Have presented to C‑level and SVP audiences on business and technical topics; able to engage executive audiences with credibility and respond confidently to questions in real time.
  • Based in EMEA, willing to travel across the region.
