Palmer McCarthy is exclusively representing an established and successful security services business that has grown rapidly in recent years and is now targeting its next significant phase of growth towards £50m+.

This newly created senior leadership position is deliberately broader than a traditional Sales Director role. As Growth Director, you will take ownership of new business, account development, bids and client relationships, while remaining involved through the mobilisation and early delivery of contracts you win.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will have genuine influence over how the company's growth function develops.

You will:

  • Develop and deliver the growth strategy supporting 10–15% annual revenue growth.
  • Identify, develop and win new business while expanding existing client relationships.
  • Lead PQQ, RFI, RFP and tender processes through to presentation, negotiation and award.
  • Build senior relationships with clients, procurement teams, property managers, FM providers and strategic partners.
  • Maintain a strong, qualified pipeline and provide clear forecasting and market intelligence.
  • Work closely with Operations, Finance, People and Compliance to ensure profitable, deliverable growth.
  • Provide senior oversight of contract mobilisation, ensuring milestones, risks and client expectations remain on track.
  • Stay involved after the sale, protecting relationships and ensuring the business delivers what it has promised.
  • Help shape the future growth function, with additional bid and commercial support available as the business scales.

The current sweet spot is £500k–£1m contracts, although the opportunity mix ranges from smaller contracts through to significantly larger opportunities.

We're looking for a commercially strong, entrepreneurial growth leader who combines strategic thinking with a willingness to roll their sleeves up. You may come from a Sales Director, Commercial Director, Business Development Director, Head of Growth or similar senior commercial background.

A proven ability to win significant outsourced service contracts, lead complex tenders and build senior client relationships is essential. Security experience is advantageous, particularly within manned guarding, mobile, reception/concierge or integrated security, but sector experience isn't essential for the right commercial operator.

Most importantly, you will be:

  • Commercially astute, results driven and commercially credible.
  • A strong senior-level relationship builder and communicator.
  • Experienced in complex sales, tenders and presentations.
  • Comfortable working across departments and taking ownership beyond the sale.
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive and resilient.
  • Motivated by building something, rather than inheriting a fully resourced sales function.
  • Capability and track record matter more than qualifications or a prescribed number of years' experience.

This is an opportunity to join a business that has already demonstrated its ability to grow, with the ambition, pipeline and leadership backing to go significantly further. You’ll have direct access to the Managing Director, a seat at the Senior Leadership Team and genuine ownership of the growth agenda — with the opportunity to build the infrastructure and support around you as the business scales.

If you're a commercially minded growth leader who wants to make a visible impact and help take a business towards £50m+, we'd like to hear from you.
