ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR

  • LOCATION: EAST LONDON
  • SALARY: £60,000 PER ANNUM
  • HOURS: 08:30-17:30, MONDAY-FRIDAY
  • REPORTING TO: BUILDING MANAGER

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Supervisor to lead the site-based engineering team and hard-services contractors across four premium residential buildings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the day-to-day operation and maintenance of M&E, HVAC, life-safety, lighting, access control and water systems.
  • Manage PPM, reactive maintenance, statutory testing and compliance in line with SFG20 and relevant legislation.
  • Lead and support a team of engineers, including 1:1s, training, toolbox talks and performance management.
  • Manage hard-services contractors, ensuring SLA/KPI performance, quality and compliance.
  • Oversee fire safety, water hygiene, electrical safety, lifts, pressure systems and HVAC compliance.
  • Respond to plant failures and emergencies, minimising disruption to residents.
  • Maintain accurate engineering logs, asset registers, certifications and CAFM records.
  • Support capital projects, lifecycle planning and energy-efficiency initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Building Manager, Front of House team, contractors and commercial occupiers.
  • Participate in on-call/emergency engineering support when required.

ABOUT YOU

  • Engineering/building services qualification or apprenticeship.
  • 5+ years' experience in engineering or hard-services management, ideally within high-end residential or mixed-use buildings.
  • Strong knowledge of SFG20, L8, EICR, LOLER, PUWER and building regulations.
  • Experience managing in-house engineers and external contractors.
  • CAFM/maintenance system experience, ideally Yardi Maintenance IQ or RiskWise.
  • IOSH, SSSTS or NEBOSH qualification desirable.
  • A calm, technically credible and safety-focused leader with excellent problem-solving and communication skills
