We are recruiting an experienced Business Development Manager to support the strategic growth of a leading security services business across the South East. This is a high-profile, commercially focused role, responsible for identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities while maximising value across existing key accounts.

You will play a key role in shaping the business growth strategy, working closely with senior leadership, delivery, and operations teams to secure sustainable, profitable revenue.

Key Objectives
  • Contribute to the strategic direction and business planning process by identifying and converting commercial opportunities into business wins
  • Drive new business acquisition while expanding and deepening relationships across major existing accounts
  • Achieve agreed new business targets and growth objectives
Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development & Market Growth
    • Identify, map, and pursue new business opportunities through proactive market engagement
    • Maintain ownership of your pipeline, tracking activity and performance through CRM
    • Deliver against the wider Client Development Strategy
    • Initiate innovative client development initiatives and networking activity
    • Attend relevant industry events, forums and networking opportunities
    • Build a strong personal profile as a recognised market expert within the security sector
    • Maintain active membership of relevant industry associations and networks
  • Client & Account Development
    • Convert client requirements into commercial projects and long-term relationships
    • Lead client pitches, presentations, and major account opportunities
    • Proactively upsell and cross-sell services within existing client accounts
    • Lead account review meetings for major clients as required
    • Leverage industry contacts to create opportunities within existing and new accounts
    • Use LinkedIn and other platforms to track market changes, decision-makers, and emerging opportunities
    • Collaborate with marketing and social media teams to contribute to blogs, campaigns, and thought leadership
    • Establish and run an industry-focused LinkedIn group and host relevant networking or social events
  • Performance & Delivery
    • Consistently analyse personal performance and pipeline health using CRM
    • Use structured client development systems to drive opportunity conversion
    • Proactively generate and nurture new projects through networking and relationship-building
Required Experience & Skills
  • Proven sales or business development experience within the security industry
  • Demonstrable track record of winning new business and developing existing accounts
  • Confident engaging at all levels, including senior stakeholders and C-suite
  • Strong ability to identify client challenges, position solutions, and control the sales process
  • Experience developing new relationships from scratch
