Palmer McCarthy is retained by a highly respected provider of security, parking management and stewarding services, working with some of the UK's most recognised events and venues. This newly created Business Development role is ideal for an experienced sales professional from an outsourced or contracted services environment. Your background could be in security, cleaning, facilities, events, parking or another people-based service sector. What's important is a proven track record of winning new business and developing senior relationships. You'll have the opportunity to sell into iconic venues, Premiership football clubs, major events and high-profile visitor destinations, taking a strategic approach to business development and sales.

A Business Development Role With a Platform
This isn't a traditional cold-calling role where you're expected to build a market from scratch. The company is already well known within the industry, with an established reputation, existing relationships and a strong network across security, events and venues. You'll generate opportunities through a combination of targeted business development, industry networking, referrals and existing relationships. There are also established client testimonials and reference sites to support the sales process and demonstrate the quality of the service. In short, you'll have a platform to build from. Your job is to identify the right opportunities, open the right doors and win the business.
The Role
You'll take ownership of the full business development and sales process, from identifying opportunities and developing relationships through to shaping solutions, leading bids and winning contracts. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute a targeted business development strategy.
- Identify opportunities across events, venues, security, parking and stewarding.
- Build relationships with senior decision-makers.
- Lead the full sales cycle through to contract award.
- Develop opportunities through networking, referrals and industry relationships.
- Lead and contribute to bids and tenders.
- Work with operational and commercial colleagues to develop solutions.
- Support and provide direction to a small bid and sales support function.
About You
We're looking for an established Business Development professional with a track record of winning outsourced or contracted services. You could come from security, cleaning, facilities, parking, stewarding or events. You'll ideally have:
- Proven success in business development and new business sales.
- Experience selling contracted or outsourced services.
- Strong senior-level relationship-building skills.
- Experience with longer, consultative sales cycles.
- The ability to develop opportunities through networking and relationships.
- Bid, tender and commercial proposal experience.
- The credibility to sell into major venues and events.
