About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Class 2 Driver to join our team, based from our Widnes depot. This role requires flexibility to travel and provide cover for our Liverpool and Chester depots when needed. You will be operating our modern fleet of 18-tonne curtain-sided wagons, delivering empty pallets to customers and collecting scrap pallets for return to one of our sites. This is a high-pressure, fast-paced position that requires initiative and the ability to think on your feet.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver empty pallets to customer sites in a timely and professional manner
- Collect scrap pallets and return them safely to our depot or designated site
- Complete daily vehicle checks and ensure roadworthiness
- Accurately complete delivery/collection paperwork
- Provide excellent customer service at all times
- Work independently while maintaining communication with the transport team
- Remain flexible to support Liverpool and Chester depots as required
Requirements
- Valid Class 2 licence
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
- Good knowledge of driver hours and road transport regulations
- Physically fit and able to handle manual work
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work alone
- Flexible attitude towards overtime and depot cover
