Role Description

The European Production and Materials Planner supports the day-to-day operation of the Belgian manufacturing facility remotely, coordinating production plans, material requirements, stock control, and operational reporting. Working with production, sales, suppliers, and wider operational teams, the role helps maintain efficiency, improve planning, and support consistent site performance.

Salary - £28-33K DOE

Working Style: Hybrid working possible following probation

Shift: Days – Monday – Thursday 8.00-16.45, Friday 8.00-13.00

Reports into: Group Supply Chain and Systems Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Planning & Operational Efficiency
    • Develop and maintain production plans across all work centres to maximise monthly output and efficiency.
    • Monitor capacity, workflow, and constraints to ensure smooth production flow.
    • Coordinate with production teams to ensure schedules are achievable and adhered to.
    • Identify and implement improvements to increase throughput and reduce downtime.
  • Work Centre Planning & Coordination
    • Ensure balanced workload distribution across all work centres.
    • Continuously review performance against targets and adjust plans accordingly.
    • Support operational teams in resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Stock Control & Purchasing
    • Manage raw material stock levels to ensure uninterrupted production.
    • Oversee purchasing of raw materials aligned with production forecasts and demand.
    • Maintain accurate stock records and support regular stock checks.
    • Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and report cost changes.
  • Stacking & Loading Plans
    • Create detailed stacking plans to optimise storage and transport efficiency.
    • Develop loading plans to maximise vehicle utilisation and reduce transport costs.
  • Month-End & Reporting
    • Complete all required end-of-month operational paperwork and reporting.
    • Ensure production, stock, and purchasing data is accurate and up to date.
    • Provide performance reports and analysis to senior management.
    • Highlight variances, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Travel & Site Oversight
    • Undertake periodic travel to relevant sites as required.
    • Conduct site visits to support operational alignment and performance.
    • Carry out stock audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Cross-Functional Support
    • Provide holiday cover across the Operations team.
    • Support wider operational activities as required.
    • Build effective working relationships with the Sales team.
    • Provide operational support in response to Sales team requirements.

  • Solid understanding of stock control and purchasing processes.
