In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the internal IT infrastructure across Palletforce and Palletforce Logistics, including server hardware, operating systems, networking, telephony and security. Working closely with the IT Support team, you will help develop and maintain IT standards, reduce vulnerabilities, and provide technical expertise and project support for strategic IT and business-led initiatives. You will play a key role in delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and resource for long-term infrastructure projects, including acquisitions, WAN deployments and voice solutions.
  • Support and facilitate the progression of IT led and Business led projects for all infrastructure related tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and correct issues relating to server, network, cloud and telephony Infrastructure and ensure Palletforce maintain standards for Server OS and cyber security vulnerabilities.
  • Configure and deploy network/infrastructure equipment to Palletforce standard configurations.
  • Provide out of hours on-call support for IT infrastructure issues that significantly impact the operation.
  • Develop strong working relationships with other departments to assist with the delivery of our service.
  • Apply logical problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and deliver effective solutions.

What are we looking for in a candidate?

  • A strong experience supporting and administering Microsoft Server and desktop environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, Office 365 and Azure Active Directory.
  • Confidence in using PowerShell for system administration and automation.
  • A good understanding of networking technologies, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, routing, switches, firewalls, WiFi and VLANs.
  • A proactive approach to maintaining a secure and reliable IT infrastructure through effective planning, documentation and continuous improvement.
  • A willingness to learn and keep up to date with new technologies and industry best practice.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, CSP management, endpoint management tools, virtualisation platforms (Hyper-V/VMware) and IT security principles (desirable).
  • The ability to support system maintenance activities, including occasional out-of-hours work and travel to other Palletforce sites when required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide professional support and build positive relationships across the business.
  • A team-focused, adaptable and solution-driven approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
