Overview
In this role you will manage the CASA portfolio to support climate negotiations and capacity-building for climate-vulnerable countries.
You’ll coordinate with DESNZ, technical partners, and consortium members to ensure timely delivery and effective governance.
You will anticipate risks, oversee mobilisation, and ensure financial controls and value for money.
The work supports Palladium’s mission to address global climate challenges through multi-partner programmes.

Responsibilities
- Portfolio coordination and stakeholder management with DESNZ, technical partners, and consortium members
- Represent the programme in meetings and provide progress updates
- Maintain clear communication to resolve issues and sustain momentum
- Lead or support portfolio work planning and delivery to meet milestones
- Oversee mobilisation, onboarding, and implementation planning
- Governance management including delivery meetings, action tracking, and decision logs
- Identify delivery risks and mitigation actions, escalating when needed
- Prepare concise, evidence-based updates for reports
- Line manage project team members and provide direction
- Align technical, operational, finance and MEL inputs for joined-up activities
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture across geographies
- Support resource planning by identifying capacity gaps
- Oversee budgets, forecasts and expenditure with finance
- Manage contract, procurement and partner administration processes
- Maintain audit-ready records and ensure compliance
- Apply value for money in budgeting and procurement decisions
- Key requirements
- Strong academic background or commensurate experience in climate change, international development, climate governance, policy, or programme management
- Experience managing complex donor-funded programmes or portfolios in climate, environment, governance, or TA contexts
- Strong project and portfolio management skills including workplanning, mobilisation, milestones, risk management
- Experience coordinating multiple partners and onboarding, contracting, procurement and performance tracking
- Strong financial and commercial management including budgeting, forecasting, expenditure tracking, value for money, compliance
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management with government clients and partners
- Strong written and verbal communication for concise reports and briefings
- Highly organised, proactive and solutions-focused in fast-paced environments
- Collaborative and adaptive working style with cross-team effectiveness
- Fluency in written and spoken English
