Pall-Ex Dorset have an opportunity for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join our friendly team. The purpose of this role is to drive the growth & profitability of our General Haulage Division, implement efficient routing & planning, provide clear communication to key partners & customers & report on KPI's.
Working hours: Monday to Friday 8am-5.30pm
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Accountability for day to day activities of the general haulage division
- Develop General Haulage customer base and commercial activity
- Oversee all route planning and assist/stand in for Network Planner when required
- Adjusting the transport plan as required to suit the business needs, with a focus on efficiency & productivity
- Ensuring full compliance with all transport regulations
- Provide support for the Transport manager when they are unavailable
- Responsible for ensuring all vehicle systems are working, are vehicle legal, roadworthy & compliant with organisational procedures & that all relevant legal, safety & operating requirements are met.
- Report any discrepancies and updates to the Head of Operations (Transport Manager)
- Maintain & Develop Customer Relationships
- Promote collaboration & positive teamwork
- Complete all necessary administration duties in a timely manner
- Work towards supporting company goals, values & objectives
Strengths, Skills and Competencies
- Extensive previous experience in a similar role within the logistics sector
- Proactive participation in a team environment
- Attention to detail & problem solving skills

- Driver Management
- Experience of full & part load planning
- Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office
