Duties include:

  • Ensure Daily planning service and cost requirements are met
  • Plan all General haulage routes efficiently using KPIs
  • Ensure all drivers are contacted/monitored daily
  • Monitor using inhouse tracking systems and technology
  • Ensure all drivers hold the relevant entitlement for the vehicles they are driving
  • Ensure all drivers remain legally compliant and driving hours are monitored
  • Work with the Operations manager to deliver a 1st class service
  • Liaise with existing and find new General Haulage customers
  • Build a large general customer base
  • Achieve set revenue targets monitored by KPIs

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a Transport Planner role
  • Knowledge of Driver Working Time Directives
  • Confident telephone manner and verbal written communication skills
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Integrity and professional attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Confidence to problem solve
  • Excellent IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
