Duties include

  • Sales hunter.
  • Identify corporate opportunities and convert to trading customers.
  • Understand the customers operational requirements.
  • Build winning proposals, supported by Head of Commercial, analytics and transport.
  • Acquire working knowledge of Nexus to communicate features and benefits.
  • Customer presentations.
  • Negotiation.
  • Be accountable for all customer proposals, SLA's, contracts, and any further documentation.
  • Respond to tenders and requests for information in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and update the company's CRM system with activity and pipeline.
  • Ensure customer onboarding success.
  • Report weekly sales activity to Head of Commercial.
  • Design and own the execution of Pall-Ex Corporate commercial strategy and territory management; map and target corporate opportunities including Leicester and Northampton (50 mile radius of LE67 as minimum).
  • Coordinate marketing activities; to support the sales process.
  • Activity and quality; adhere to sales targets prospect visits and pipeline value.
  • Fit for Pall-Ex; ensure opportunities are credit checked and have the volume profile potential for corporate.
  • Commercial terms and Operational understanding; through effective questioning, understand the full scope of the customers operational requirements, to enable best commercial terms to be realised in the shortest possible time.

Collaborate with internal suppliers i. e transport.

  • Negotiation; with prospects to reach agreeable terms in the shortest time.
  • Gaining commitment and onboarding; work with Customer Service Manager and account manager, to ensure robust handover and smooth onboarding for the customer.
  • Collate commercial knowledge and drive continuous improvement in commercial acquisition
  • Presentation skills; present Pall-Ex corporate to prospective customers and at internal meetings.
  • Reporting in Hub Spot sales activities, pipeline and ensure data quality of all corporate prospects organisational contract information.

The ideal candidate will have

  • New business sales skills.
  • Drive and determination to hunt for new corporate business.
  • Previous experience in a Business Development Manager role.
  • Knowledge of the road freight sector preferably pallet networks.
  • Effective sales, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Genuine care and ability for problem solving
