The Buyer is responsible for the timely placement of purchase orders to meet operational demand in a mainly make to order environment, ensuring Supplier Compliance with Aerospace regulations

This position reports to the Senior Buyer and is part of the Purchasing Department located in Redruth and will be an on-site role.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To

• GR/IR- Ensure that purchase orders are correctly maintained through their life cycle to ensure goods arrive as expected and Vendors are paid in line with authorised terms.
• Expedites/Confirmation – Utilising IMAG (Inventory Management) and our SAP systems to ensure that critical materials are delivered on time, escalating to Senior Buyer or Supplier Relationship Manager when issues arise.
• Daily creation and maintenance of purchase orders, including Kanban activities
• Work with Supply Chain Controllers to ensure that Operations and the Plans are aligned with material availability
• Work with Supplier Relationship Manager – involvement in NPI and Sourcing activities

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include

• Previous experience in a Buying or Planning role or similar
• At least two years experience in a busy manufacturing environment
• Good understanding of MRP systems – preferably SAP
• Intermediate Excel Skills as a minimum

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements

• Ability to travel – Occasional travel to meet with Suppliers or to attend training at other Sites
