The Strategic Sourcing Agent is responsible for proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating supplier‑related risks associated with material obsolescence, end‑of‑life (EOL), supplier‑driven material changes, and broader supply continuity threats. The role combines strategic sourcing, supplier risk management, and change governance to ensure financially sound, compliant, and resilient supply decisions across the product lifecycle. The position is part of the global operations organization and requires on‑site presence. The role partners closely with Materials, Planning, Sourcing, Operations, and Regional Supply Chain leaders to architect, deploy, and sustain a disciplined supply chain operating system using DBS, DMS, and structured problem solving.
In This Role:
- Monitor supplier notifications (EOL/LTB, discontinuations, and technology roadmap changes) and lead mitigation planning (lifetime buys, alternates, redesign, and requalification) with marketing and commodity managers.
- Ensure supplier‑driven material and process changes are reviewed and approved, rejected, or mitigated in accordance with governance, contracts, and customer requirements.
- Chair cross‑functional forums to evaluate obsolescence‑or supplier‑change‑driven replacements, develop business cases, and drive timely decisions.
- Document decisions, approvals, and mitigations, and maintain data integrity across ERP, PLM, and supplier management systems.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve supplier risk, obsolescence, and material change management processes to reduce lifecycle risk and improve decision speed and quality using DBS tools.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, supply chain management, or engineering.
- Extensive experience in supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.
- Extensive experience driving continuous improvement using Lean, KPIs, and MRP‑based ERP systems to improve OTD, lead time, cost, inventory, and supplier performance.
- Flexible in adapting working hours to meet the demands of global operations and stakeholder needs.
Travel Requirements:
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
Desired Experience:
- Ability to interpret product Bill of Materials (BOMs) and drawings.
- Experience with SAP/SAP Analytics Cloud and electronic sourcing tools (D'B, Procurement IQ, Amplifi Pro, Resilinc, EcoVadis).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft product suite including complex Excel functions and handling large data sets.
- Microsoft Power BI experience.
