ABOUT PALEFIRE
Palefire is a small, independent design studio creating imaginative, artistic lighting for the home. Founded in October 2021, our debut collection U/V has been featured in T Magazine , FT How to Spend It , Elle Decoration , House & Garden , and more. We\’re visually driven, creatively ambitious, and rooted in the world of interiors, art, and design.
Our growth has been fuelled by organic press and Instagram, and have started experimenting with paid social since May 2025. We have a strong visual identity and tone of voice, and we\’re now looking for someone to help us express this more consistently and inventively across our social platforms.
THE ROLE
We\’re looking for a part-time freelance Social Media Manager who is imaginative, visually fluent, and full of ideas. You\’ll create and publish original, engaging content that reflects our world—while helping us grow our online presence and community.
You\’ll work under the guidance of our freelance Head of Content, who oversees all content marketing activity. You\’ll collaborate closely with them to plan, schedule and execute social content, and may also assist the Creative Director during shoots or with ad-hoc visual tasks. This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role best suited to someone who loves the world of interiors and design.
ABOUT YOU
- You are a visually led creative, bursting with ideas and energy
- You have strong content creation skills across formats: image, video, and written
- You instinctively understand what works on Instagram and Pinterest—and how to tailor content accordingly
- You\’re analytical enough to track what\’s working and adjust accordingly
- You\’re detail-oriented with strong aesthetic judgement and a feel for contemporary design
- You\’re comfortable working within an existing brand identity while still contributing creatively
- You\’re happy to be guided by an editorial lead, and enjoy working as part of a small, collaborative team
- You\’re self-aware: you know your strengths, and where you might need to bring in collaborators.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and publish engaging daily Instagram content (Posts, Reels, Stories), in line with Palefire\’s visual and editorial direction
- Ideate and develop creative content using both existing assets (product/lifestyle imagery) and new material
- Curate and source relevant imagery and inspiration from press, collaborators, archives, or online
- Create cost-effective content using tools like collages, animation, AI or gifs
- Manage community engagement and help build meaningful online relationships
- Post regular content to Pinterest using our archive and new assets
- Collaborate with our paid media freelancer and the Head of Content by providing assets for Instagram ads
- Assist the Creative Director on visual content creation, such as behind-the-scenes footage or ad-hoc production support (not leading shoots)
- Support the Head of Content in refining and improving content strategy over time
SKILLS
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign (essential)
- Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Express, CapCut or similar (a plus)
- Experience using scheduling tools such as Later or Planoly
- Strong copywriting skills for captions, stories, and basic community comms
- Comfortable briefing or liaising with freelancers (e.g. videographers, designers)
