Due to a number of recent client wins, we are looking for a talented web developer to join our team. One of our developers is moving on to pastures new. We are looking for someone cut from the same cloth: someone who takes ownership, cares about craft, and wants to build things that actually push the boundaries of what web projects can be. If you are tired of churning out the same old WordPress template sites and want to work with modern, headless architecture day in day out, read on.

ABOUT PALE BLUE DOT

A shift in perspective changes everything. We work at the sweet spot where brand and digital converge — not simply a brand studio or a digital agency, but a fusion of both. Our clients range from local businesses and startups to global industry leaders, household names, and some of the biggest names in sport and entertainment — think Guy Ritchie, Rio Ferdinand, and Gareth Southgate — across sport, tech, food and beverage, and airlines. We are a Storyblok partner, a Craft CMS partner, an Umbraco partner, and a Shopify partner. We have been on the headless journey for a couple of years and it is where most of our most interesting work lives now.

THE STUDIO

We are based in The Printworks, one of Belfast's best new creative spaces — a proper city-centre studio with great people around us. The coffee from @NineSquared next door is exceptional, which helps.

THE ROLE

You will take the lead on a range of web and e-commerce projects, transforming design into polished, high-performing digital experiences. Previous agency experience is a requirement — we move fast, work across multiple clients, and need someone who can hit the ground running.

MUST-HAVES

  • 3+ years agency experience
  • Solid HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of: Craft, Umbraco, WordPress, Shopify
  • A sharp eye for UI/UX — you notice when things are slightly off

NICE-TO-HAVES

  • Headless / JAMstack
  • Tailwind CSS
  • React / Vue / Angular
  • Node.js
  • Figma

STORYBLOK

Storyblok is central to how we work, but you do not need to arrive knowing it. We will train you up — what we do need is a genuine appetite to learn and get good at it quickly.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

  • Work on genuine, high-profile local and international projects
  • Develop real expertise in headless and modern CMS architectures
  • Be part of a tight creative team in a relaxed, city-centre studio
  • 35-hour working week
  • Hybrid working — Fridays at home
  • 20 days holiday plus stats
  • Training and conference budget
  • Company pension and health policy
  • Regular team events
  • Salary reflective of your experience

HOW TO APPLY

Send us your CV, include a few recent projects, salary expectations, and a paragraph on why PBD appeals to you. Candidates must be resident in and hold full right to work in the UK. Deadline: 5pm, 15 May 2026.
