Outstanding opportunity for a CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualified Financial Controller to join a rapidly expanding £50m turnover division and UK/European head office of a market leading global manufacturing company.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the UK and European finance team.
- Ensure timely and accurate local and group financial reporting.
- Organise and oversee external statutory audit and preparation of statutory accounts across all European entities.
- Act as a pivot member of the Senior Leadership Team, providing business partnering support to management across Operations, Sales, Marketing, HR and IT.
- Ensure compliance with all company accounting procedures and statutory requirements.
- Develop modern and effective financial control processes and procedures to meet evolving business demands.
- Develop financial and operational KPI reporting suites.
- Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations for UK and European entities (management & financial accounting, treasury, cost accounting, financial transactions, tax).
- Oversee audit and tax functions.
- Support cost accounting activities.
- Support and prepare monthly financial statements.
- Ensure balance‑sheet integrity.
- Cash‑flow reporting.
- Support ERP/system implementation projects.
- Review and standardise processes across company entities.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified CIMA, ACA or ACCA Financial Controller.
- Graduate with experience in a similar role – No 1 in Finance for a UK subsidiary of a large international manufacturing group – preferred.
- Track record of developing strong financial teams and business partnering skills.
- Experience in manufacturing sector essential.
- Advanced MS‑Excel skills and ERP experience (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Full and indefinite eligibility to work in the UK (UK citizen or ILR).
- Resides within a sensible commute of Wigan.
