Palatine Talent are proud to be partnering with one of the world's most recognised charities as it looks to recruit a Head of Governance, Compliance & Risk in a new role created to support the charity's strategic plans and ongoing global growth. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Corporate Governance, your remit will include:
- Ensuring robust governance, compliance, and risk management is in place across the charity and its global subsidiaries.
- Working as the trusted advisor and subject matter expert in corporate governance on behalf of the Board.
- Overseeing legal and regulatory compliance.
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive risk management framework.
- Leading an internal audit programme that fosters organisational learning.
- Embedding best practices in governance and compliance.
- Supporting effective trustee succession planning.
- Providing support for the Governance and Nominations Committee to ensure effective Board Governance.
- Providing expert advice on legal structures for subsidiaries.
- Developing a compliance culture covering data protection, money laundering, counter-terrorism, sanctions management, fraud prevention, and misuse of funds.
- Completing all regulatory filings (Charity Commission, OSCR, Companies House, ICO) within deadlines.
- Leading a team and empowering others to drive progress through fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
Applicants should be experienced Governance, Compliance & Risk professionals with a professional qualification in law, accountancy, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or corporate governance (ICSA). You will have extensive experience (5+ years) in corporate governance, compliance, and risk management within complex organisations and should have expertise in managing legislative changes. Charity experience advantageous.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and highly regarded charity at a pivotal time of reorganisation and growth in an autonomous role where your contribution will directly support the charity's objectives. Salary of £76,432 with a comprehensive benefits suite including 10% pension, 25 days Hols (increasing to 31 with service) + Bank Holidays, Holiday purchase scheme, 35 hours per week, Flexitime, Hybrid working (minimum 2 days per week in the office).
Applicants must have full and indefinite eligibility to work in the UK (through being a UK citizen or having gained ILR) and should live within a sensible commute of Warrington.
