We're proud to be working with a highly successful, market-leading UK business with a strong heritage and exciting growth plans. Following continued investment in technology and innovation, they're now looking to strengthen their finance team with the addition of a driven, resilient Credit Controller. This role will suit someone who takes real pride in owning their ledger, chasing debt proactively, and delivering results; not someone who waits for things to happen. If you're someone who is focused, tenacious, and not afraid to have the difficult conversations, this is an opportunity to come in and make a genuine impact.
Reporting directly to an outstanding Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include:
- Proactively chasing outstanding debt via phone and email
- Building strong relationships with customers to ensure timely payments
- Identifying and resolving invoice queries quickly and effectively
- Managing and reducing aged debt
- Allocating cash and reconciling accounts
- Placing accounts on stop and making commercial decisions around risk
- Producing aged debtor reports and supporting month-end processes
- Working closely with internal teams (sales, operations, finance) to resolve issues
- Driving improvements in processes and credit control performance
The successful candidate will have proven experience within Credit Control, and strong communication skills (confident on the phone and able to hold your ground). You will be proactive, possess a results-driven mindset, high levels of resilience, ownership and accountability. You are someone who takes pride in delivering outcomes, not excuses.
My client offers a competitive salary, hybrid working (following initial training period), 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, early finish on a Friday, and free on-site parking. You will also find clear opportunities for progression and development should you want them, and a supportive, stable business with excellent staff retention. If you're looking for a role where you can add real value and be recognised for your output, apply without delay.
