The Role
As a Mobility Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting with the payroll tax compliance and accounting reporting areas of Palantir’s Global Mobility program. You will craft, implement, and execute processes to streamline workflows, reduce friction, and deliver great customer service to our mobile employees. In this role you’ll be assisting the Mobility Tax team to ensure the tax implications of every assignment are understood and accounted for correctly by both Palantir and our assignees. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Finance, People and Legal teams and business leads to support the seamless movement of Palantir employees around the world. To be successful in this role you’ll need a combination of program management, process optimisation, and execution skills in addition to a working knowledge of mobility tax workflows. We value problem solvers who are energised by the chance to improve the efficiency or accuracy of existing processes.
Core Responsibilities
- Track and review tax payments, shadow payroll, and tax equalisation across multiple countries.
- Initiate expat-related tax and payroll payment requests; review payroll outputs for accurate and compliant reporting.
- Verify mobility and tax cost reporting for accruals and cross charges.
- Maintain relationships with external tax service providers to ensure our employees receive best-in-class support and advice.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across all levels of the business to drive projects and initiatives related to mobility processes and internal systems.
- Identify opportunities to integrate AI and automation into mobility tax workflows — from data gathering and reconciliation to vendor communication and compliance tracking.
- Partner with Palantir's internal AI and data teams to help build and refine tools that improve the speed, accuracy, and scalability of global mobility operations.
What We Value
- Excellent customer service skills and a passion for developing strong partnerships with stakeholders.
- Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies — you don't need to be an engineer, but you should be excited about using AI tools to work smarter, automate the mundane, and focus your energy on higher-value work.
- Comfort working in a data-rich environment and a desire to use analytics to drive better decisions and outcomes in mobility tax operations.
- Meticulous attention to detail, including maintaining accurate records and diligently tracking key project metrics.
- Enthusiasm for supporting internal projects and business priorities, bringing order and efficiency to critical internal initiatives.
What We Require
- 2+ years of Global Mobility, Tax or Payroll experience within a large public accounting or law firm, and/or a company that deploys employees overseas for project-based work.
- Knowledge of U.S. income taxes; familiarity with foreign tax systems is a plus.
