Job Description
Are you an experienced QA with a strong record of success, looking for a fresh challenge?
Are you a commercially minded ‘people person’, who is able to lead and inspire a team?
If so, we could have the opportunity for you.
This role requires a strong QA who can handle technical challenges in a fast paced environment.
You will be able to analyse complex business scenarios, whilst having the demonstrable leadership skills to continually train and mentor Junior and Intermediate QAs.
We require a strong communicator who can form solid working relationships with our Global team; cooperating with QAs, Developers and BAs globally.
Ideally, you will have strong skills and a proven track record in black box testing, white box testing and regression testing.
Your technical day to day responsibilities will include
- End to end testing of the Palantir application suite (both products on the market and in R&D), from planning to post deployment.
- Designing, implementing, testing, deploying and maintaining testing suites to provide high code coverage.
- Reviewing and challenging functional specifications for specificity and testability, and contributing to the overall development of the automation test suite using Coded UI.
- Developing and owning test artefacts (including test plans and test scripts), both functional and non-functional
- Taking ownership of functional areas to ensure that appropriate business analysis and development activities are in place e. g. code reviews, appropriate unit test coverage, user story documentation.
- Executing functional, regression, non-functional (performance, latency, resilience, etc.) tests and managing defects
- Defining and tracking quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status.
- Assessing automation readiness, defining coverage and providing specifications for automated tests.
- Salary Range - £45,000 - £50,000 per annum

Qualifications
- Experience in Software Quality Assurance, that encompasses all stages in software development and testing lifecycles.
- Experience working within an Agile development environment.
- Experience using Test Asset Management and Execution tools; e. g. Microsoft Test Manager, On Time, HP Quality Centre, TFS.
- Experience in testing complex business processes.
- Familiarity with MS SQL and relational databases.
- Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Personable and enthusiastic team player; a self‑starter with the ability to take the initiative resolving challenges.
- ISEB Qualifications or similar
- Previous experience working as a Business Analyst.
- Experience with Dev Ops and Continuous Integration
- Automation experience (preferably using VBScript and C#) and working knowledge of one or more mainstream test automation tools such as Coded UI, QTP, Test Complete or Load Runner.
- Any experience of working within the petroleum industry or a financial services organisation is highly desirable.
- Experience with auditing financial calculation results or background in accounting/finance.
- Experience with advanced financial evaluation techniques such as Monte Carol simulations, decision trees, tornado diagrams, spider diagrams, portfolio management, efficient frontiers or real options theory.
