We're looking for an experienced ERP Systems Specialist to take ownership of our Microsoft Navision / Business Central platform and help drive the future of our business systems landscape. This is a hands-on technical role for a Navision / Business Central expert with proven experience supporting, administering, configuring, improving and integrating the core system. This is not a Business Analyst role. We are specifically seeking candidates with direct technical ownership, support, administration and enhancement experience.

The opportunity:

Reporting to the Head of IT, you will be the primary technical owner and subject matter expert for Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (Navision). You will be responsible for ensuring the platform remains reliable, efficient and aligned to business needs through effective support, configuration, continuous improvement and project delivery. Working closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Operations and Commercial teams, you will help optimise processes, improve system performance and deliver future enhancements and integrations. Approximately 80% of your role will focus on Business Central/Navision, with the remaining 20% supporting the wider applications environment alongside the Systems Application Manager.

What are key duties of the role?

  • ERP Ownership & Support
    • Act as the primary SME and technical owner for Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (Navision).
    • Manage the day-to-day administration, support and performance of the ERP system.
    • Troubleshoot complex system issues and identify sustainable long-term solutions.
    • Maintain system integrity, performance, security and reliability.
    • Manage user access, security roles and permissions.
    • Ensure business-critical processes are effectively supported by the ERP platform.
    • Work with users to resolve application, process and data-related issues.
  • ERP Development & Continuous Improvement
    • Lead the delivery of ERP enhancements, upgrades and optimisation initiatives.
    • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
    • Configure and optimise Business Central functionality in line with business requirements.
    • Support testing, deployment and user adoption of new functionality.
    • Maintain system documentation, support procedures and configuration standards.
  • Integrations & Technical Solutions
    • Support and enhance integrations between Business Central and other business applications.
    • Work with third-party vendors and technical partners to deliver solutions.
    • Assist with data analysis, reporting and process improvement initiatives.
    • Support system architecture decisions and future technology investments.
    • Collaborate with internal and external teams on ERP-related developments.
  • Project Delivery
    • Manage ERP-related projects from initiation through to implementation.
    • Coordinate with software vendors, consultants and development partners.
    • Deliver projects on time, within scope and aligned to business objectives.
    • Ensure successful testing, deployment and transition into business-as-usual support.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build strong relationships across Finance, Supply Chain, Operations and Commercial teams.
    • Provide expert guidance on ERP best practice and system capabilities.
    • Deliver user training and support where required.
    • Act as a trusted technical advisor for Business Central related initiatives.

What we need you to bring to the team:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and/or Microsoft Navision.
  • Experience supporting and improving ERP systems within a commercial environment.
  • Strong understanding of business processes across Finance, Supply Chain, Operations and Logistics.
  • Experience delivering ERP projects, upgrades, integrations or system enhancements.
  • Ability to analyse complex business requirements and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working with third-party software providers and technical partners.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, APIs or integrations would be advantageous.
  • A proactive and continuous improvement mindset.
