Huron College is a post-secondary institution with academic buildings, residences, and administrative offices. The campus environment requires proactive patrols, student engagement, incident response, and enforcement of campus policies. Security personnel contribute to maintaining a safe and respectful academic setting.

Site Address: 1349 Western Road, London, ON N6G 1H3

Hours: Thursday, Friday, Saturday (8PM - 3AM)

Payrate: $19.10/hr plus all employees in this position will receive travel expense reimbursement due to the shift ending at 3AM

Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement – calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly

Key responsibilities:

  • Implement security measures to protect property, control access to sites and ensure client rules and regulations are followed
  • Check In each student – confirm that they are in residence with ID
  • Maintain confidentiality and written reports
  • Perform security checks and liaise with students, customers and the public
  • Ensure site safety and emergency procedures are followed and maintain written reports
  • Watch for and report irregularities by completing incident reports such as security breaches, facility safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency services such as police, fire and ambulance personnel as required
  • Enforce compliance to company policies and procedures
  • Training other staff members whenever necessary
  • First Aid – be prepared to administer when required
  • Maintaining a positive, productive work environment
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Prerequisites:

  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • Authorized to legally work in Canada
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability.
