Huron College is a post-secondary institution with academic buildings, residences, and administrative offices. The campus environment requires proactive patrols, student engagement, incident response, and enforcement of campus policies. Security personnel contribute to maintaining a safe and respectful academic setting.

Hours: Thursday, Friday and Saturday (8PM to 3AM)
Payrate: $22/hr
Union Status: Non-union
Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement – calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee the residence check-in guards and act as a liaison between the guards and other side contacts.
- Interact with students, staff and members of the public to provide directions and promote good customer service while providing a security presence.
- Implement security measures to protect property, control access to sites and ensure client rules and regulations are followed.
- Check in each student – confirm that they are in residence with ID.
- Watch for and report irregularities by completing incident reports such as security breaches, facility safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency services as required.
- Enforce compliance to company policies and procedures.
- Train other staff members whenever necessary.
- Be prepared to administer First Aid when required.
- Maintain a positive, productive work environment.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Prerequisites:
- Valid Security License for the province of Ontario.
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor).
- Authorized to legally work in Canada.
- English (oral and written) fluency is a must.
- 6 months to 1 year experience as a Team Lead or Supervisor is a must.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills.
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB).
- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training.
Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability.
