Huron College is a post-secondary institution with academic buildings, residences, and administrative offices. The campus environment requires proactive patrols, student engagement, incident response, and enforcement of campus policies. Security personnel contribute to maintaining a safe and respectful academic setting.

Site Address: 1349 Western Road, London, ON N6G 1H3

Hours: Thursday, Friday and Saturday (8PM to 3AM)

Payrate: $22/hr

Union Status: Non-union

Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement – calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the residence check-in guards and act as a liaison between the guards and other side contacts.
  • Interact with students, staff and members of the public to provide directions and promote good customer service while providing a security presence.
  • Implement security measures to protect property, control access to sites and ensure client rules and regulations are followed.
  • Check in each student – confirm that they are in residence with ID.
  • Watch for and report irregularities by completing incident reports such as security breaches, facility safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency services as required.
  • Enforce compliance to company policies and procedures.
  • Train other staff members whenever necessary.
  • Be prepared to administer First Aid when required.
  • Maintain a positive, productive work environment.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Prerequisites:

  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor).
  • Authorized to legally work in Canada.
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must.
  • 6 months to 1 year experience as a Team Lead or Supervisor is a must.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB).
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training.

Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability.

Certification Requirements: First Aid and CPR - Level C Certification, A Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.
