Are you an active person with an interest in handywork and maintenance? Do you have a wish to support an engaging, exciting learning environment? Do you have an interest in working in a busy, nurturing primary school? If so, Akiva is looking to appoint a part time Site Assistant to help the Site Manager.

Akiva is a welcoming school and we like to ensure that our children, parents and staff are happy and feel supported. Our pupils deserve the best and we are committed to providing outstanding education and memorable experiences for every child to enable them to be responsible, kind, confident and independent learners.

If you are highly-motivated, a good team player with drive, enthusiasm, self-motivation and integrity and have high expectations of yourself and of others, as well as a good sense of humour, good communication skills and know how to use your initiative then you will be working as part of a successful team who are passionate about providing the very best experience for the pupils at their schools.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended 2013 and 2020); pre-employment checks will be carried out, two references will be sought, and successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, medical clearance and other relevant checks with statutory bodies. The school complies with the DBS code of practice and has a DBS Policy which outlines the policy on the recruitment of ex-offenders, both of which are available on request.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to declare any relevant convictions, adult cautions or other matters which may affect your suitability to work with children. As a result of amendments to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (exceptions order 1975) in 2013 and 2020, some minor offences are now protected (filtered) and do not need to be disclosed – these offences will also not be taken into account by the school.
