Etz Chaim Jewish Primary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team to support an individual pupil joining our school in September. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant difference to a child’s learning, development and wellbeing within a nurturing and inclusive primary school environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Provide 1:1 support for a named pupil, including facilitating their access to learning and participation in classroom activities.
  • Work with the pupil and, where appropriate, alongside their peers to promote inclusion and independence.
  • Assist in the preparation of personalised, adapted resources and learning activities.
  • Support the pupil with personal care needs, in line with school policies and training.
  • Foster a safe, positive and nurturing environment for all pupils.
  • Monitor and provide feedback to teachers on the pupil’s progress, engagement and behaviour.
  • Support during breaktimes, lunchtimes and educational visits, where required.

We offer opportunities for professional development and in-school support. We are an inclusive school and welcome applications from candidates of all faiths and cultures. Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. This is a fixed-term post linked to the educational provision for a specific pupil. The post will continue while the pupil remains on roll at the school and requires this level of support, or until funding ceases. An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required.
