We are looking to recruit an experienced Quality professional with a strong background in structural steelwork and welding quality management to take ownership of the quality function within a respected steel fabrication business. This is a key role ensuring products, processes, and procedures meet strict quality, regulatory, and customer requirements, while driving continuous improvement across workshop and site operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining and improving the ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Overseeing quality control in a structural steel fabrication workshop
- Ensuring compliance with EN 1090 up to EXC3, including FPC and welding quality management
- Acting as Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC) in line with ISO 3834-2
- Managing WPQRs, WPS, welder qualifications (EN ISO 9606), and welding documentation
- Coordinating NDT and ensuring full traceability
- Managing LTQRs, quality packs, ITPs, NCRs & NOIs
- Leading internal & supplier audits for ISO 9001 and EN 1090
- Liaising with clients, project teams, and notified bodies during audits
- Providing technical quality support to workshop and site teams
Qualifications
- 6+ years' experience in structural steelwork / fabrication
- CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 Welding Inspector certification
- Proven RWC experience under ISO 3834-2 & EN 1090
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, NDT, and construction standards
- Experience conducting ISO 9001 & EN 1090 audits
- Confident communicator with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
