We’re recruiting on behalf of our client for a Commercial Vehicle Quality Technician to join a busy production and workshop environment. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring all vehicle builds, modifications, and installations meet strict quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications before delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Inspection & Assurance
- Carry out detailed inspections of completed commercial vehicles, including bodywork, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Inspect conversions such as lutons, dropsides, platforms, and curtain siders.
- Ensure all work meets job cards, technical drawings, and build specifications.
- Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all builds comply with company procedures, safety standards, and relevant regulations.
- Verify that build documentation and inspection records are completed accurately.
- Support adherence to manufacturer and industry standards.
- Production Support & Continuous Improvement
- Work collaboratively with production teams to maintain high-quality build standards.
- Provide feedback on recurring issues and quality concerns.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records.
- Ensure documentation is stored correctly for audit and traceability purposes.
- Clearly communicate defects and rework requirements to relevant teams.
- Health, Safety & Housekeeping
- Follow all health & safety procedures and safe working practices.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Adhere to company policies and housekeeping standards.
About You
We’re looking for someone with a strong eye for detail and a proactive approach to quality control.
- Previous experience working with commercial vehicles in a workshop, manufacturing, or conversion environment.
- Good understanding of vehicle body builds and installation processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and job specifications.
