A leading engineering and pump solutions company is seeking an experienced Wastewater Pump Engineer to support operations at the Teesside Fire Training Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with wastewater or pumping systems experience to join a growing organisation with long-term career prospects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of sewage and clean water pumping systems, ensuring site infrastructure remains operational, compliant, and safe at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater and clean water pumping systems
  • Working on sewage pumping stations and sewage treatment plants
  • Maintenance of associated mechanical and electrical infrastructure including:
    • Pump stations
    • Sewage treatment plants
    • Reed beds
    • Valves and pipework
    • Chambers
    • Balancing ponds and lagoons
    • Drainage systems
  • Carrying out inspections, sampling, and compliance checks
  • Supporting site continuity and sustainability objectives
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety procedures and company standards
Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within wastewater, sewage, or pumping systems
  • Strong mechanical engineering background with hands-on experience in:
    • Pump removal and installation
    • Mechanical maintenance and repairs
  • Experience working on sewage pumping stations or treatment plants highly desirable
  • Strong electrical knowledge and fault-finding skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence essential
  • Able to work outdoors and within challenging site environments
