Site Chemist position available in Brownhills (West Yorkshire), requiring 40 hours per week with shift work, including early shifts, noons, and nights. Our client is dedicated to becoming the UK\’s leading waste management provider. **Objective:** To add value to the business by accepting and inspecting all incoming Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste assignments in compliance with relevant regulations and site procedures. **Main Duties:** – Ensure all incoming waste consignments have proper paperwork (Consignment Note/Duty of Care). – Verify completion of all paperwork and retain copies on-site and with hauliers. – Conduct waste safety checks for site acceptance, storage, and processing/transfers. – Perform regular waste sampling for internal laboratory analysis. – Inspect incoming waste according to BAT requirements in Sector Guidance Note 5.06. – Optimize waste routing to minimize costs while ensuring legal compliance. – Record waste acceptance in the SAP system. – Document non-conformances in the SAP system with detailed information. – Submit paperwork for scanning within 48 hours of arrival. – Properly store waste in line with Sector Guidance and Permits. – Ensure correct labeling of all waste with relevant information. – Process waste as needed, including bulking, sorting, segregating, listing, and repacking. – Provide technical support to colleagues on-site. – Complete necessary outgoing paperwork. – Serve as a site first aider after training. – Maintain a clean work area through regular housekeeping. – Assist other teams as necessary. – Perform additional duties as requested by the business. **Essential Qualifications & Experience:** **What You\’ll Bring:** – HNC or Degree in Chemistry or a related field. – Experience in the Waste Industry preferred. – SAP experience and proficient in Microsoft Office. – Willingness to work outdoors in hazardous chemical environments with a hands-on approach. – Strong leadership skills in managing processes. – Effective communication across all levels. – Decision-making based
