We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Machine Operator to join a busy and well-established steel manufacturing business based in Brompton-on-Swale.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of CNC machinery within the production facility, ensuring productivity, quality, and safety standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machinery efficiently and safely as part of a rotating production team
  • Complete and follow daily CNC processing checklists
  • Monitor machinery performance and identify maintenance requirements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase production efficiency
  • Liaise with equipment manufacturers and engineers regarding machine breakdowns and servicing
  • Work closely with the Works Manager, Supervisors, and wider production team
  • Assist with staff training where required

Machinery Experience Preferred

  • Experience operating any of the following machinery would be highly advantageous:
  • Voortman blast, saw, and drill lines
  • Kaltenbach Profitline fittings machinery
  • Peddinghaus saw/drill machinery

Candidate Requirements

Essential Skills & Attributes

  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative

  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise workloads
  • Positive attitude towards training and development

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience within a steel fabrication or heavy engineering environment
  • Experience improving operational efficiencies and production processes
  • Training or mentoring of production staff

Additional Information

  • Overtime and weekend working may be required to meet production demands
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities available
  • Reporting directly to the Works Manager
