Paisley Distance Learning Program is accepting applications for a K-8 distance-learning teaching position.

This job consists of instructional-related services, including skill development, expanding standards-based knowledge, and developing the ability to reason.

Responsibilities include supervision, guidance, discipline, and student safety.

Independent judgment and decision-making are required in many matters where established rules, regulations, policies, or precedents do not exist.

Primary Functions

  • Identify individual students' needs by continuous assessment of skills and abilities.
  • Use identified student needs to plan instructional services.
  • Prepare and write instructional plans
  • Use a variety of curricula and virtual tools to implement instructional plans
  • Organize and manage student activities
  • Apply learning theories to meet the needs of students
  • Evaluate and report student progress
  • Initiate, plan, and carry out regular and required parent/student meetings via technology platforms and in person
  • Initiate and maintain communication with parents and colleagues
  • Conduct and present reports during staff trainings and meetings
  • Present reports during staff trainings and meetings
  • Answer daily emails and phone calls from the assigned students and parents/guardians
  • Address student concerns and issues presented in meetings or other communication
  • Reply to emails that show student learning plan/portfolio submission with feedback
  • Score student work, Performance Tasks, and provide preparation for OSAS Assessments
  • Maintain student files with completed work and assessment results
  • Perform required assessments for all assigned students
  • Refer students as needed to the Special Services Team and provide interventions using the Response to Intervention Plan
  • Attend all staff meetings
  • Attend required meetings with the supervisor
  • Attend required meetings with the Special Education Director
  • Host weekly synchronous virtual classes
  • Manage course content in the student learning management system
  • Maintain classroom/virtual communications with families
  • Maintain daily reports for attendance
  • Maintain contact logs
  • Submit monthly documentation of mileage and appointments
  • Facilitate and record grades for the report card process and credit tracking
  • Other Functions as listed on the job description

The District offers a generous insurance package. PERS benefits are fully paid by the District.

The first day of work will be August 31, 2026. 163-day contract based on a 4-day week with monthly Fridays.

Remote Office while residing in the Willamette Valley or the broader Portland area and broader travel as assigned.
