PAIR is a fast-growing AI adoption startup on a mission to help professionals and teams harness AI to do their best work. Our platform delivers personalised, AI-powered learning experiences and adoption support that help organisations rapidly harness AI at scale.
We already have strong traction with 15,000+ users and enterprise deployments with organisations including the Ministry of Justice, you.com, and TheMTC. We are backed by investors including Seedcamp, Venrex, Tom Hulme (Google Ventures), and Steve Garnett (ex-Chairman EMEA, Salesforce).
We’re now hiring a Full‑Stack Software Engineer to help build the core platform as we scale to thousands more users. In this role, you’ll work across frontend and backend, partnering closely with product and design to ship features that customers use every day.
The Role
This is a product-focused full‑stack role in a small engineering team where engineers take ownership of meaningful parts of the platform. You’ll be responsible for building and improving features used by thousands of learners and enterprise teams. Work moves quickly, and engineers here collaborate closely with product and design to shape solutions and ship improvements regularly.
Responsibilities
- Build end‑to‑end product features, from backend APIs and data models through to frontend UI.
- Work closely with product and design to translate ideas into well‑built, user‑facing functionality.
- Improve the quality, usability, and performance of the existing platform.
- Contribute to technical decisions and product discussions as we evolve the platform.
- Help maintain a clean, reliable codebase that supports rapid iteration as the company grows.
You’ll be joining at a point where the product is already live with enterprise customers, but there’s still significant scope to improve, extend, and refine the platform as usage grows.
Our Stack
- Frontend: Vue 3, TypeScript
- Cloud: Azure (plus a small number of services on GCP)
You don’t need to know this exact stack. What matters most is that you’re comfortable working across a modern web application and can pick up new tools quickly.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a strong mid‑level engineer who enjoys building real product features and working closely with a small team.
Core Experience
- Experience building production web applications across frontend and backend.
- Strong experience with at least one modern frontend framework (Vue, React, or Angular).
- Solid backend development skills in a modern language (Python preferred but not required).
- Experience building APIs and data‑driven product features.
- Comfortable working with relational databases.
- Able to own features end‑to‑end, from idea through to production.
- Comfortable working closely with product and design functions in a collaborative environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Vue or TypeScript.
- Experience with Python backend development.
- Experience working in a startup or small product team.
We care much more about what you’ve built and shipped than the exact technologies you’ve used.
Why Join PAIR?
- Build something people actually use. Your work will ship quickly and be used by real organisations learning how to adopt AI.
- Ownership and Impact. Engineers here own meaningful parts of the product and see the results of their work immediately.
- Work closely with the product. You’ll collaborate directly with product and design and see how your work impacts customers.
- A strong team. We hire carefully and aim to build a thoughtful, high‑calibre team that enjoys working together.
- Real momentum. PAIR already has strong traction, major customers, and top‑tier investors backing the company.
Compensation & Working Setup
- Salary: £59–74k depending on experience.
- Equity: meaningful option grant.
- Hybrid: 1 day/week in our central London office (Tuesdays).
- Focus weeks: ~7 times per year where the whole team collaborates in person (Mon–Thu).
- Holiday: 25 days + public holidays.
If you enjoy building real products, working closely with users, and having meaningful ownership, we’d love to hear from you.
