Who We Are

PAIR is a fast-growing AI adoption startup on a mission to help professionals and teams harness AI to do their best work. Our platform delivers personalised, AI‑powered learning experiences and adoption support that help organisations rapidly harness AI at scale.

The Role

We’re hiring a Frontend Engineer as our sixth technical hire. You’ll collaborate closely with our Lead Frontend Engineer, CTO, and Creative Lead to turn complex ideas into polished, high‑performing user experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Own features end‑to‑end, from technical design and implementation to release, iteration, and ongoing improvement.
  • Own specific areas of the frontend codebase, from components to flows.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and backend to translate Figma designs and product requirements into functional, high‑quality code.
  • Improve frontend performance, accessibility, and overall quality.
  • Shape frontend standards, structure, and tooling as we grow.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical planning, and team stand‑ups, helping us maintain a high engineering standard.

What You’ll Work On in Your First 6 Months

  • Leading the frontend implementation of a new user‑facing journey, from initial concept through to polished production experience.
  • Owning and improving a complex product surface: dashboards, authoring tools, AI‑driven workflows, or other high‑impact areas.
  • Helping raise engineering quality through improvements to testing, patterns, and shared components.
  • Collaborating closely with backend engineers on end‑to‑end feature slices.

What You’ll Bring

  • We expect you to operate independently as a solid mid‑level engineer (or higher). Roughly 3–5 years’ experience is typical, but we prioritise capability over years.
  • Strong experience with a modern component‑based frontend framework (Vue, React, Svelte, etc.).
  • Experience owning features or areas of a production codebase.
  • Good understanding of APIs, state management, and frontend architecture.
  • A strong product and UX mindset: you care about users, not just code.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Strong communication, especially in hybrid/remote collaboration.

Nice to Have

  • Vue 3 + Composition API experience.
  • Performance and accessibility optimisation experience.
  • Experience with dashboards or complex interfaces.
  • Prior startup or scale‑up experience.

Why Join Us?

  • High impact. You’ll shape a product used by thousands and make decisions that have immediate customer impact.
  • Real ownership, without chaos. We keep process lean and avoid unnecessary meetings. Engineers here have autonomy, trust, and support.
  • Mission that matters. AI is changing how people work. Most organisations don’t know how to adopt AI quickly or effectively. You’ll help fix that.
  • Backed by top investors. We’re growing fast, with strong financial backing and significant revenue traction.
  • A‑Team environment. We hire carefully. You’ll work with thoughtful, driven people who are experts in their craft.

Compensation & Working Style

  • Salary: ÂŁ61–74k base, depending on experience and level.
  • Equity: 0.05%-0.15%, depending on experience and level.
  • Hybrid: 1 day/week in our central London office (Tuesdays).
  • 7 company‑wide focus weeks (in person Mon‑Thu) each year for deep collaboration.
  • 25 days holiday + public holidays.
  • Right to work: We can sponsor visas for exceptional candidates; applicants normally have UK work rights.

Our Hiring Process

  • Application Form: focused questions to assess your fit for the role.
  • Short Self‑paced Coding Exercise (~1 hour for a strong candidate): realistic, no LeetCode.
  • Technical Interview (Teams): walkthrough of your solution + a short live coding task.
  • Final Onsite: meet the team + with our CEO and CTO.

How to Apply

Apply via our application form at: https://forms.office.com/e/RXtCygQVSd. If you’re excited about the role but don’t meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply. We care about potential and growth, not just checkboxes.
