Pair Care is seeking a Learning & Development Specialist with experience in health and social care or clinical settings to develop and maintain high-quality, compliant training content across our services in Scotland. This role focuses on designing, updating, and owning care and clinical learning materials, ensuring all content aligns with Care Inspectorate Scotland requirements, SSSC standards, safeguarding legislation, and current health and social care regulations. You will translate clinical guidance, policy, and regulatory requirements into clear, practical, and engaging learning content that supports safe and effective care delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, write, and maintain clinical and social care training content
  • Manage and update the organisation’s learning content library and LMS materials
  • Review and update policies and procedures in line with Care Inspectorate and legislative requirements
  • Ensure all learning materials meet SSSC standards and wider compliance frameworks
  • Translate clinical, safeguarding, and regulatory guidance into accessible training modules
  • Work closely with nurses, care managers, and operational teams to identify training needs
  • Maintain accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all learning materials
  • Support continuous improvement of training content and workforce development

Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience in Learning & Development, training, clinical education, or instructional design
  • Background in health and social care or regulated care environments (Scotland preferred)
  • Strong understanding of Care Inspectorate requirements, safeguarding, and SSSC standards
  • Ability to interpret clinical or regulatory information and convert it into training content
  • Strong written communication and content development skills

Desirable:

  • Nursing qualification (RGN, RMN, RNLD) or clinical background
  • Experience as a Practice Educator, Clinical Trainer, or Clinical Educator
  • Experience in care homes, domiciliary care, supported living, or NHS Scotland
  • Experience developing mandatory training (e.g. medication, moving & handling, safeguarding)
  • Experience working with LMS platforms or e-learning tools
