About The Role

Are you detail-driven, quality-focused and confident working with technical documentation? We are looking for a Quality Document Controller to join our Quality Team and play a key role in ensuring fabricated steel products meet the required specifications, customer expectations and industry standards.

This is a varied and hands‑on role combining quality inspection, document control and quality system compliance. Working closely with Production, Engineering, Project Teams and the on‑site fabrication team, you will help identify quality issues, support corrective actions and contribute to continuous improvement across the business.

Once training is complete, you will be required to work a rotating shift pattern, covering 6am–2pm and 2pm–10pm shifts.

You’ll be joining a supportive team where quality is central to the way we work. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact by improving processes, supporting compliance and helping deliver high‑quality fabricated products to our customers.

What you’ll be doing

  • Carry out visual and dimensional inspections throughout manufacture and prior to dispatch.
  • Verify compliance with drawings, specifications, standards and customer requirements.
  • Raise, update and support closure of Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Raise and manage concessions, deviations and corrective actions.
  • Record and maintain inspection reports, quality records and traceability documentation.
  • Compile and maintain manufacturing record books, quality packs and handover documentation.
  • Manage controlled procedures, work instructions, forms and quality templates.
  • Ensure quality documents are current, approved, controlled and readily accessible.
  • Maintain quality registers, trackers, SharePoint libraries and folder structures.
  • Review and improve quality processes, procedures and document management systems.
  • Support internal, customer and third‑party audits through provision of quality records and objective evidence.
  • Produce quality data and reports to support business performance and continuous improvement

Who we're looking for

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in accuracy, understands the importance of traceability and can work confidently across both inspection activity and quality documentation.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Good communication skills
  • Observant and high levels of attention to detail.
  • Good report writing and numeracy skills.
  • Good IT skills (knowledge of MS Office 365)
  • Ability to work to deadlines.

Experience that would be an advantage

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Knowledge of Fabrication and Welding Techniques.
  • Knowledge of Visual Inspection, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Dye Penetrant Inspection.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and process controls
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
